Why TAP?

Imagine a world where families, schools, and communities work together to support the healthy development of all children.

If our society is to prosper, we will need to make sure that all children have the opportunity to develop intellectually, socially and emotionally.

Catalyst for Solving Community Problems

The Austin Project (TAP) was created in 1992 by Walt & Elspeth Rostow and other community leaders to be a catalyst for social initiatives to improve the lives of children and families. TAP develops and implements innovative ways to help children overcome carriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Once initiatives are proven, TAP encourages their incorporation into appropriate organizations, allowing TAP to move on to other community needs.

Non Profit, 501c(3) human services agency that has been in operation since 1992.

TAP serves as a catalyst to get action underway where it is needed.

TAP initiatives and programs have spun-off into successful, long-term community endeavors.

Programming Focus

TAP's programming is designed to focus on the whole child and to:

Encourage language and cognitive learning; and
