About The Austin Project

The Austin Project works in collaboration with other organizations and agencies to incubate new services and initiatives that support the alignment of resources within our schools and community.  TAP works to strengthen families, improve education and promote early literacy.

History and Purpose

The Austin Project (TAP) was created in 1991 by Walt and Elspeth Rostow and other community leaders to be a catalyst for social initiatives to improve the lives of children and families. TAP develops and implements innovative ways to help children, youth and families overcome barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Once initiatives are proven, TAP encourages their incorporation into appropriate organizations, allowing TAP to move on to develop new strategies and alliances that will support other community needs.

Mission

The Austin Project is a non-profit organization that acts as a catalyst, in collaboration with other community organizations, to improve the lives of children, youth and families.
