Coordinated School Health and Wellness Initiatives
TAP addresses the overall health of children and families in 13 target neighborhoods in central east and southeast Austin. This is achieved through school-based community health centers and by focusing on and improving school-linked health care. The family resource centers offer mental health counseling and provide families with preventive, wellness, and maintenance strategies and information. Place-Based Health Strategies for 78744 & 78745
TAP is a key partner in implementing "place-base" initiative to address the chronic incidence of childhood obesity in the Dove Springs, 78744 community while developing a constituency of local leaders who have the power to act and sustain the collective impact of this work.
